Technical & Compatibility FAQs
How do I ensure an imported engine or gearbox fits my vehicle?
Engine and gearbox fitment depends on matching your specific Engine Code (e.g., VQ35DE, 1KR-FE) or Gearbox Code, along with your vehicle's VIN, rather than relying solely on the vehicle model year. Imported specs (JDM, European, or UK) can vary in sensor placement, intake manifolds, or flywheel configurations. Contact our team with your engine code or VIN, and we will verify exact compatibility before purchase.
Does a complete engine include all ancillaries (starter, alternator, turbo)?
We supply both Complete Engines and Bare Sub-Assemblies. A complete engine typically includes the intake manifold, fuel rail, and injectors. Ancillaries such as starter motors, alternators, power steering pumps, and turbochargers depend on the specific engine package. Your official tax invoice will clearly state all included components.
Can I swap an automatic or DSG transmission into a manual car (or vice versa)?
Transmission conversions involve significant modifications beyond swapping the unit itself. They require matching Transmission Control Modules (TCM), Engine Control Units (ECU), pedal boxes, wiring harnesses, and flywheels or torque converters. We recommend sticking to your vehicle’s factory transmission setup unless you are working with a specialized conversion workshop.
Condition & Inspection FAQs
How does MYM Autoworld inspect imported engines and gearboxes?
Every imported unit undergoes a physical inspection at our facility prior to sale:
- Engines: We inspect internal oil cleanliness, check for valve-train carbon deposits, inspect block integrity, and manually rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees to ensure smooth movement with no internal binding.
- Gearboxes: We check fluid condition and clarity, inspect casing mounts and plug housings, and manually test input shaft rotation and gear selection.
What is the typical mileage on imported engines and transmissions?
Most of our stock sourced from international markets (such as Japan and Europe) comes from low-mileage donor vehicles, typically under 80,000 to 100,000 km, due to strict overseas vehicle inspection regulations and road safety laws.
Warranty, Legal & Paperwork FAQs
What warranty coverage comes with my purchase?
All engines come with a 30 day warranty and gearboxes come a seven day warranty. (specific terms are outlined on your purchase invoice). New engine carry a 3month warranty. This window allows your technician to install, service, and start the unit to ensure full operational health.
What documentation is provided for police clearance and registration?
Every engine sold includes an official MYM Autoworld Tax Invoice clearly displaying the unique engine serial number, along with the required to update your vehicle’s engine details at the traffic register/department of transport.
What installation requirements must be followed to keep the warranty valid?
To maintain warranty coverage, all units must be installed by a qualified mechanic or workshop. The following standard maintenance steps are required during installation:
- Replace engine oil, oil filter, thermostat, and fresh coolant.
- Replace main oil seals, spark plugs, and timing belt/chain kit.
- For gearboxes: Flush cooler lines, replace transmission fluid, and fit new transmission filters/gaskets or clutch kits.

Do you offer delivery across the country?
Yes, MYM Autoworld provides nationwide freight delivery directly to registered workshops or residential addresses. Shipping costs are calculated based on destination and unit weight.
What extra consumable items should I budget for?
