New Engines Guarantee
1Guarantee Coverage & Scope
- Covered Assembly: This Guarantee strictly covers internal mechanical components of the Engine Long Block only (cylinder block, cylinder head, crankshaft, pistons, camshafts, and internal components), unless otherwise explicitly agreed upon in writing by the Supplier.
- Guarantee Period: This Guarantee is valid for a period of three (3) calendar months commencing from the date of invoice.
- Exclusions from Coverage: Unless agreed to in writing by the Supplier, this Guarantee explicitly excludes all bolt-on accessories, ancillary components, and external parts, including but not limited to:
- Turbos, injectors, sensors, wiring harnesses, starter motors, alternators, clutches, and flywheels.
- Any consequential or secondary damage, including loss of income, towing costs, vehicle hire, transport, labor, or diagnostic fees.
2Installation Requirements
To maintain the validity of this Guarantee, the Engine must be installed in accordance with the following mandatory conditions:
- Approved Workshop: Installation must be performed by a qualified mechanic at a Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) approved workshop or equivalent certified facility.
- Cooling System Audit & Service: Prior to Engine startup, the workshop must complete and record the following steps:
- Inspect the radiator for leaks, cracks, or flow blockages.
- Inspect all coolant hoses, fittings, and the water pump for wear or defects.
- Completely flush the cooling system and refill with manufacturer-approved coolant at the recommended dilution ratio.
- Repair or replace any defective or worn cooling components prior to operation.
- Mandatory Part Replacement: The following service items must be replaced with brand-new parts at the time of Engine installation:
- Engine oil (correct grade and specification) and new oil filter.
- Air filter and fuel filter.
- Timing belt kit / timing chain kit (where applicable).
- Proof of Installation: The Customer must retain all itemized invoices and job cards as proof of compliant installation and parts replacement.
3Mandatory Service Schedule
- Initial Service: A full service (oil, oil filter, and system checks) must be conducted within 1,000 km (or 30 days, whichever occurs first) following installation.
- Subsequent Diesel Engine Servicing: For all diesel engines, regular servicing must be performed at maximum intervals of 5,000 km following the initial 1,000 km service.
- Maintenance Records: Stamped service books and itemized invoices for all scheduled services must be retained by the Customer to substantiate any future claim.
4Conditions Leading to Voiding of Guarantee
This Guarantee shall become null, void, and unenforceable immediately upon the occurrence of any of the following events:
- Failure to comply with any installation or servicing condition outlined in Sections 2 and 3.
- Engine damage resulting from overheating, loss of coolant, or operation without sufficient oil pressure/volume.
- Use of incorrect oil grades, non-approved coolant, contaminated fuel, or improper fluids.
- Unauthorized engine modifications, including ECU remaps, tuning, aftermarket turbochargers, or performance enhancements.
- Vehicle misuse, abuse, negligence, racing, competitive driving, commercial overload, or off-road misuse.
- Disassembly, alteration, or tampering with the Engine without prior written authorization from the Supplier.
5Claims & Inspection Procedure
- Notification: The Supplier must be notified in writing immediately upon discovery of any suspected defect or malfunction.
- Standstill Condition: The Engine must not be dismantled, removed, or altered prior to receiving written instructions or inspection consent from the Supplier.
- Inspection: The Supplier reserves the right to inspect the vehicle, Engine, installation records, and service history prior to approving any claim. The Engine may be required to be returned to the Supplier’s premises for technical evaluation.
